southwest area Atlanta Hotel convenient to Aquarium via...

Hi, coming to Georgia from Texas (I20) to enjoy azaleas at Callaway Gardens. However, would like a stop-over hotel enroute to permit a weekday morning visit to the new Georgia Aqarium before heading SW to Pine Mountain. I had thought the Comfort Inn at Turner Field would be about the right area and price range, but it%26#39;s not available. Any other suggestions under a hundred a night?

You%26#39;ve gotten lucky, as I%26#39;m fairly sure you would not want to stay in the Turner Field area. It%26#39;s fine before and after baseball games but is otherwise a very sketchy neighborhood. I think you%26#39;d be better off looking for something downtown or in midtown.

If those hotels are too pricey, you may want to look into a hotel near the airport. There%26#39;s not much in that area but I know that prices are lower and it would be on your way to Callaway Gardens.

Thanks for the advice re: Turner Field. I%26#39;ll check the airport area near MARTA, just found their website.

If I were doing this, I would bid on Priceline for downtown, as you would be within walking distance of the aquarium, and there are nice hotels in that area. You could bid for a 4 star hotel at around $80 and would probably get a very nice hotel. If you want to stay near the airport, you could bid even less for a four star hotel. You may want to explore biddingfortravel.com to see deals recent bidders have gotten.
