Columbus Georgia has two very distinct flavors. To have a great time there try to stay North of Ft. Benning, the La Quinta Inn off exit 6 has really great rates and is within 6 miles of he main gate, there are also many other hotels between exit 10 and 6. I am in Korea right now but served there doing graduations every day. I hope I was helpful.

I was also searching for a hotel in the area and happened upon this discussion somehow. My husband graduates from Airborne (at Benning) soon. Anyway, tell your son congratulations and that there%26#39;s at least one other person saying a prayer for him at this moment! And of course thanks for serving this great country we live in!!!

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on North I-185 three times. The people are friendly. There is a breakfast included although the service is slow. It is decent but not the newest. There is a mall almost across the street so your son can get all the things he has missed while in the gentle tutorage of Uncle Sam. The number is 706 324 0231. Ask for the AAA discount if you are a member. (If your son stays, ask for the military discount.) If you ask for hotels in Columbus Georgia on google you can find a bunch of alternatives. Have a great time.

there is a Marriott hotel near the mall there which was excellent! They had a breakfast buffet that was very good! The hotel, rooms, lobby, everything was clean and new. Staff was great! I stayed there with my husband (currenlty in officer candidate school at Ft. Benning) and it was near restaraunts. Definately reccommend it! All the best to you and your son.

hello- my son is graduating boot camp on June 2 we will be down there on May 31 st. We are booked at the La Quinta which I hear is not far from the base and they still may have openings. I pray for my son and all the soldiers there daily I also have faith that the God will see us all through this tough time. Good luck and God Bless. Chrisosmom

My son is graduating on June 23rd. We are staying at the chalet at Uchee Creek Campground %26amp; Marina. It is like a home away from home. The fee is very reasonable, it is like a fully furnished cabin and the Army campground also has a swimming pool, basketball and volleyball areas, the wilderness and the water. It is a very nice place where our soldiers can have some nice and peaceful R%26amp;R while we are there. The cabins come equipped with everything, you just furnish the food. There are a couple of reviews in these forums and they can be found on the Fort Benning website.
