things to do on weekend

I don%26#39;t know the date of your visit so hope this is not too late. Since this is in the Ft Benning post, I%26#39;m guessing you%26#39;re looking for things to do around Columbus Ga. Columbus itself has a nice downtown area - river front walking, shops, restaurants. Warm Springs %26amp; Pine Mountain are about 45 minutes north - Callaway Gardens, FDRs Little White House, Pine Mountain State Part (lots of hiking but if your son%26#39;s been at boot camp, he may just want to rest!). George Bagby State Park is nearby also %26amp; has good fishing, boating, nice lodge. Montgomery AL is about 1 1/2 hr west - Alabama Shakepeare Festival theater has great productions. Many historical sites there also - from MLK, civil rightssites to the White House of the Confederacy. About 30 minutes east toward Albany GA, are Providence Canyon State Park - the little grand canyon of the south - %26amp; Westville, an historical village in Lumpkin. All of these would be easy day trips %26amp; all have lodging so you could spend the night if you wish. Hope this helps.

things to do on weekend

hi Chris%26#39;s mom.im going to see my son Blake in Georgia for Graduation June 29th and 30th,and then he gets a few days off there in Columbus before heading out to Airborne that next monday so we%26#39;ll have that whole weekend to do stuff, let me know if you find out some fun stuff to do since i have 2 other kids i%26#39;ll need to keep busy thanks ,militarymom!!!!!!

I%26#39;m not exactly sure how far Fort Benning is to Pine Mountain but there is an Animal Safari just outside of Pine Mountain that is supposed to be very entertaining. You stay in your vehicle and drive around for about 2 hours and the animals come up to your vehicle and put their head in for food. We are going with the girl scout troop in 2 weeks so I haven%26#39;t been there yet but I%26#39;m really looking forward to the visit. Hand feeding a rino sounds like fun if you ask me. Check it out.
