Breakfast in Atlanta

Any idea where I can find a good/traditional breakfast place in Atlanta ?

Breakfast in Atlanta

What part of Atlanta? Downtown, Buckhead, Roswell, Peachtree City? Lots of good breakfast places.

try the orginal pancake house

We arrive at the international airport at 7am. Our next flight is at 5pm. We could taken the MARTHA to downtown for an early breakfast. Note: it%26#39;s Memorial Day on the day we arrive.

where is original pancake house?

I%26#39;m going to recommend a few places to you that might be fairly convenient if you%26#39;re using MARTA to go into Atlanta.

The first one is the Silver Skillet on 14th Street. You could take MARTA to the Arts Center station, then grab a cab outside to get there. You could walk but that%26#39;s a highly trafficked area. Silver Skillet is what most Americans would call a ';greasy spoon'; in that it serves a lot of bacon, eggs, ham, etc. But it is definitely tasty.

Another one is the Flying Biscuit Cafe on the corner of Piedmont and 14th Street. That walk would be much esier, frankly, but you can take a cab as well. Their breakfast is not quite as traditional but the biscuits are fantastic. They also serve terrific omelets as well.

BBQman mentioned the Original Pancake House on Cheshire Bridge Road. It%26#39;s not really in close proximity to a MARTA station but the food is definitely good. You could take MARTA to the Lindbergh station and take a cab from there.

Hope that helps!

Waffle House, they are everywhere.

I would suggest thumbs up cafe on edgewood ave. I%26#39;m sure people will be mad that I%26#39;m letting the cat out of the bag.

Try something you won%26#39;t find anywhere else. Take MARTA north from the airport to The Varsity for an early lunch. They have sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, onion rings, frosted orange drinks. Guaranteed indigestion but worth it for a once in a lifetime experience.

I had one of the best breakfasts EVER Sunday morning at the Radial Cafe, which is on Dekalb Avenue in Inman Park/Old Fourth Ward. There was a 30 minute wait at 1:30 pm, which is think is a good sign of popularity. I had french toast stuffed with cream cheese and topped with walnuts and raisins with a side of bacon. It was rich and decadent and I probably weigh 4 pounds more but it was fantastic. Radial Cafe was voted the Best Breakfast in Atlanta by both Creative Loafing and Citysearch, and this was the first time I tried it. The bacon was perfect. The portions were HUGE and all of the food we saw coming out looked great. One friend had biscuits with rosemary fennel gravy and another had a traditional eggs, sausage and cheese grits. Everyone raved about it. There was a breakfast burrito we saw coming out of the kitchen that looked big enough to feed an army, and the fruit and yoghurt plate was big and fresh. Although they do not serve alcohol (I really wanted a mimosa) I will certainly make this my top choice and I enjoyed it much more than the few times I%26#39;ve been to Silver Skillet.

Also, I have not tried the Thumbs Up diner yet, but it has an equally loyal following.
