The Oyster House in Alpharetta

Great seafood, if you can get past the rude wait staff.

They won%26#39;t be there long.....

The Oyster House in Alpharetta

I totally agree with Pattytoo. We went there this past Saturday night with a party of ten. Rude waiter, long wait for our food (when the place was not very busy), and worst of all...I was over charged on my entree by $2.00 and overcharged on my beers by $1.50. I know tht $3.50 is no big deal, but I have NEVER been overcharged on my bill. Another couple we were with were also overcharged more than $10.00. When we confronted the owner it got very ugly and the owner throw our money back at us and aksed us to leave. It was quite a scene.

BEWARE: DO NOT EAT AT THE OYSTER HOUSE IN ALPHARETTA, GA.

I had a bad experience as well and will never ever step foot in that place again. I agree, they will not be there long. Not if I can help it.

BEWARE OF THE OYSTER HOUSE!!!

I went there on a Monday night and the service was horrible and the owner is just plain rude. Needless to say,I had a bad experience. I called the next day to get the owners name so I could write a letter and was promptly cursed out and told that they don%26#39;t give out names. After hanging up, the owner actually called my private line back and cursed me out again. I will be involving Alpharetta%26#39;s finest in this incident.

Please be VERY careful if you choose to dine there.

It%26#39;s me again. Due to the poor serve on Satruday night I left only a $1.50 cash tip.

Well I checked my credit card bill today and discovered that the restaurant had charged a $10.00 tip to my bill without my authorization.

I am planning to stage a boycott in front of the Oyster House this weekend, who%26#39;s in?

I am so in on the boycott. I was overcharged on every item on my bill and then charged for it twice on my credit card plus 18% gratuity on both. BTW, the rude waiter is the rude owner%26#39;s son. Poor food, poor service and double charged. Bye bye Oyster House!

Folks, I think you%26#39;ve made your point. I suggest you contact the Oyster House personally and make your unhappiness known. Better yet, contact the Better Business Bureau and let them know about your experience.

I went to this restaurant on Saturday evening, 3/25. It would have been my 4th time, but I was taking my husband for the 1st time. Additionally, planned to meet another couple there. It is a very small restaurant and when we arrived it was busy, with 2 other couples waiting. A server passed us all with no eye contact or acknowledgment. I did see one open table and decided to peek around the corner to see if there were any others, just trying to estimate our wait time. On my way back to the front, I approached a woman who obviously worked there as she was standing at the pass window. I asked if the restaurant was seat yourself. (I obviously knew it wasn%26#39;t, having visited before, looking for a polite way to let her know that we had not yet been acknowledged.) She stated it wasn%26#39;t, asked how many in our party, I replied 4. At this point she turned over her pad of paper, wrote down the number 4 and circled it, said that they would let us know when they had a table available. There was nothing else written on the pad, so I told her that there were 2 other couples ahead of us, I didn%26#39;t want to be seated before them and that it seemed that they had not yet been acknowledged. She then proceeded to tell me that she was the owner, she acknowledges everyone who walks through that door, they are on a 20 minute wait and why don%26#39;t I go back to the door and she will let me know when they have a table, with a roll of the head! I was shocked %26amp; awed to say the least.....my job dropped. I said, ';You%26#39;re the owner? how rude are you.'; She then said ,';if I%26#39;m so rude, why don%26#39;t you leave and never come back.'; When I questioned her anger and rudeness, I was told that she didn%26#39;t need to be told how to run her business and that she was calling the police and going to charge me with trespassing. My husband happened to be waiting for me outside, I went out and was explaining what had just went down when she followed me out %26amp; continued to threaten me. This time she said she was going to add destruction of property to the charges. ? Oh and by the way, she lives in a million dollar house, drives 2 Mercedes and knows everyone in Alpharetta. Why she felt the need to share this, I can%26#39;t explain.

As I said before, this would have been my 4th time to the restaurant, so obviously I liked the food. The service had definitely left something to be desired and now I know why. If the owner will treat customers/potential customers in this manner, why would they feel a need to do a good job? I have NEVER been treated this way and felt that it is my duty to share my experience. Anyone see a pattern?

I am in the process of sending an email to the Better Business Bureau, complaints@atlanta.bbb.org, and encourage you all to do the same! This is unacceptable behavior!

Obviously a lot of playing around here. None of it to be taken seriously.

not the dreaded roll of the head? boy don%26#39;t you just hate that! hey it just occured to me the problem here is that they only have one more month with an R in it so they must be over whelmed. you%26#39;d be rude too if your oyster shuckers had been threatening to go on strike after 4 solid laborious months of shucking. i%26#39;ll sure be glad when may gets here, whew!

All this negative publicity makes me curious about the restaurant. I may go and try it out. Maybe someone who is closer to it than me can go and do a review. What do you think Bbqman? It is hard for me to get over to Alpharetta.
