Will be in for a conference in July and staying at the Westin Peachtree Plaza. We will not have a car, so will have to rely on foot or public transportation. Are there plenty of restaurants in the general vicinity?

There are restaurants close by, and in recent years a few decent ones have come onto the downtown scene, but generally I think most natives would tell you that you%26#39;re going to have more variety and better places by heading to Midtown or Buckhead. Fortunately, either area is an easy MARTA ride away, and the Westin Peachtree Plaza sits right on top of the North-South MARTA line%26#39;s Peachtree Center station.

Directly across the street from the Westin is IL Mulino Italian (fine dining), Hooters (Wings, Ribs, Seafood), Hard Rock Caf茅, Durango Oak Fire Steakhouse, Ray鈥檚 In the City (Seafood) and around the corner is Daily鈥檚 (fine dining/jazz), Azio www.aziodowntown.com, HSU鈥檚 Gourmet Chinese, Agatha鈥檚 Mystery Dinner Theatre www.agathas.com and Mama Ninfa鈥檚 Mexican.

BLT Steak and Fab are both absolutely wonderful, restaurants you%26#39;ll be talking about long after you return home. Room at Twelve is quite good The other restaurants in that area are mediocre at best. If you%26#39;re looking for something cheap or moderately priced that%26#39;s good you%26#39;ll need to get out of downtown.

There is some cheaper and fast options in this area as well. There is a food court in Peachtree Center. You will have a lot to choose from.

Public Transportation is easy. Marta is right there.
