This isn%26#39;t the first time we have been to atlanta but it is the first time I have been with my 4 neices and nephews all under 8.
Their parents are concidering visiting the aquarium, world of coca cola, and or the fernbank museum maybe the science center.
Will the crowds be too much at the aquarium for the kids? Is the price worth it? Which or how many of the places mentioned could we see in a day?
We have already been to the zoo.
visiting atlanta for the day
You could do all three in one day, but it would be a busy day. In order of wow factor for kids of that age I would rank it as 1)Georgia Aquarium, 2)Fernbank, especially if they like dinosaurs, and 3)World of Coca cola. The aquarium will likely be crowded, but not quite as much so as a few months ago. And as a lot of the crowds are kids, I don%26#39;t think it would be too much. I would suggest planning on buying your tickets in advance and going early in the day. Coca Cola is not far away, near Underground Atlanta, and Fernbank is not a bad drive maybe 15 minutes.

thanks for the suggestions. do you think it would be best to eat at one of the attractions or at some fast food place?
Fast food restaurants are actually a little hard to find within Atlanta. Those near downtown are really not in the most desirable areas. You may want to eat at the aquarium. I%26#39;ve never eaten there and the food to me looks like typical hamburgers, but the menu was designed by Wolfgang Puck so hopefully it%26#39;s a little better than just fast food. The cafeteria area is very crowded at lunch time, though, with limited seating, so you may think about taking the kids to the Varsity before or after.
I went to Fernbank a couple of months ago, and looked around with an eye towards coming back with my three year old neice. Frankly, I didn%26#39;t see much there that I thought would interest her other than perhaps the Imax movie. I think the Imagine It! Children%26#39;s museum, which is very near the aquarium facing Centennial Park, is far more fun for kids. It is very interactive, and so creative.
I%26#39;ve never been to World of Coke so can%26#39;t offer an opinion on that. However, the current version is said to be very dated and a new WOC is under construction. You may want to wait for the new one.
Re: crowds at the aquarium, if you%26#39;ve got someone helping you keep up with 4 kids it shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. It will be crowded, but if they can wait a little to work their way to the front of some of the exhibits, they should be able to get a good view of everything. There%26#39;s also a 3-D movie they might enjoy. I think crowd management has gotten MUCH better than it was when the museum first opened. The difference between my first visit over the Christmas holiday and my most recent visit 2 weeks ago was night and day.
