Masters 2007!!

Hello- if you really want to make it a true birthday experience, why not stay in one of my hometown%26#39;s bed and breakfasts (Washington, Ga)...only 45 minutes from Augusta and one of the prettiest little town around. Here%26#39;s the link for all the B%26amp;B%26#39;s...just click on ';lodgings';. You won%26#39;t be disappointed.

Cheers-

Masters 2007!!

You might want to try staying in Columbia SC. It is about an hour drive down I-20 Interstate but it is well worth the drive. I have stayed at a wonderful Hampton Inn off Harbison Blvd/I-26 Interstate. They boast of winning many awards and it is a beautiful property and reasonably priced. We paid around $115 per night for our room but it is alot better than Augusta and surrounding areas running $300-$400 per night. The staff is very nice and they also give you shortcut directions to the course. This was provided by a former Augusta resident.

They are in the middle of every eating place you can imagine and a mall about 1 block away. There is a lake behind the hotel and it has very nice walking paths around it and alot of people take advantage of it.

There number is 803-749-6999. I am not sure but I think they do reservations 1 year out.

Have a good time!

Hi crusty. Can you let me know the website of the ticket agent you contacted about tickets. What a great birthday gift. My husband would love to go so I might suprise him. Many thanks.

Hi crusty again. No need to reply to my previous message as I%26#39;ve just gone through the forum and found the website for tickets that was posted before. Hope you had a good time in orlando, vegas and san fran.

of all the places in town the partridge inn would be the most convenient to the course and if I%26#39;m not mistaken they have a shuttle (which would help with the traffic woes). There used to be a fabulous restaurant called Bambu on Hickman but I believe it and the other great restaurant in town (DTimms) have both closed...nonetheless, the partridge is decent (but the rooms are tiny) unless you want to stay in some of the newer, cleaner, cheaper hotels in columbia county. Make sure you book real early to avoid price gouging.

You%26#39;d better reserve soon, as the Masters fill out YEARS in advance. Call the Chambers of Commerce of Augusta, Thomson and Washington (all in Georgia) if you want lists of accomodations with description and rates.

Let me suggest hotels in Columbia County - look for Martinez listings. Columbia County is a suburb of Augusta.

Downtown Augusta boasts a beautiful hotel Marriott Riverfront on 2 10th street. Most of the hotels south oI-20 you could walk to the National - $ave parking dollar$.

just talked to dh he is down there now. been going for almost 20 yrs . unless you are in great shape he doesn%26#39;t advise anyone to walk to the masters, because of all of the walking you will be doing there, unless you are staying in one of the houses directly across from the club.

Alot of folks take thier chairs and set them out early in the morning, no one bothers them at all. (we%26#39;ve been doing that for several years and never had an issue). The chairs can not have arms though. We set them out early, walk around and look at the players, have a sandwich, and then settle in for a nice afternoon of viewing in our chairs. I agree it is much more preferable to drive down Washington Road UNLESS, it is backed up like it was yesterday mid morning. Then walking a half mile may be more preferable to waiting over and hour in traffic to go the same distance.
