This will be our first visit to Savannah and we love B%26amp;B%26#39;s (my husband and I). I was looking at the Stephen Williams House, does anyone know anything about it? It is located on West Liberty Street close to Bull Street. Are the other buildings around it nice? We also, were looking at the Forsyth Park Inn. But it sounds from some of the postings that it might possibly be noisy in front of the park, and of course it is further walking distance from the main shops and restaurants. Can anyone give any more info on that? I have also read all of the recommendations for the 1895 Inn and would love to stay there but since I am looking into this late in the season, wanting to stay late October, I wanted to have several recommendations in case I am limited on their availability. These B%26amp;B%26#39;s look like some of the most reasonably priced ones for the type of accommodations you receive.
Has anyone know anything about the Stephen Williams House?I had friends stay at the Stephens Williams House and loved the experience. Albert the owner was the best. He is definately old southern charm and the best ever with breakfast- which he makes himself. Great charm and very with local stories and where to go and stay. My friends toured several bed and breakfasts. They mentioned the 1985 Inn, thought it was nice- but didnt stay.
They loved the WIlliams House and would go back. Albert the owner with his homemade frenchtoast- puts this home over the top. He is also an antique dealer. there is a garden at his home!!! Hope this helps!!!
Has anyone know anything about the Stephen Williams House?Stephen Williams House: Stayed two nights, April 5th and 6th, 2006. It could not be nicer. Great bedroom, wonderful welcome and directions from the owner, a fine breakfast both days --- and a good price. The furniture and decorations are handsome, fitting the historic house beautifully. I had a great bed. Don%26#39;t miss it.Chicago, Illinois
It sounds like you made a good choice but I will say that all of the three you mentioned are in beautiful spots and within easy walking distance of the sites.
The Stephen Williams House is a nice clean looking property just south of Orleans Square which offers a beautiful fountain with views of the McAlpin-Champion House.
IMO this whole area has benefited greatly with the completion of the Jepson Center for the Arts. Not only is the Jepson world class, the construction site that devistated Telfair Square for 3 years has been cleaned up.
I have been avoiding the area on my tours but now make it a highlight.
Your B%26amp;B is easy to find and is a short walk to the best of the historic district.
