Looking for help

Hello. My name%26#39;s Olivia and I live in the UK.

I was wondering if anyone knew if any hotels in Savannah would be willing to offer a job placement for a student in the summer of 2007 for about 2 1/2 months.

I%26#39;m not really sure how to go about (eg, whether to contact hotels directly etc) but I am very interested in working in a new environment before I have to come back to England to start university.

Any information would be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

It certainly wouldn%26#39;t hurt to work up a resume and send it to them. Be sure to include a picture.

However, it%26#39;s only fair to tell you that Savannah has Armstrong State University, Savannah State University, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and South University. We have many students that work summer jobs in the hotel/motel/restaurant areas. You would probably have better luck in a City that wasn%26#39;t already so well supplied with young people. I think you would also have a problem finding housing for such a short time.

It would be a great way to spend the summer. Here%26#39;s wishing you good luck!!

SCAD kids leave for summer. There%26#39;s a definite need in the service industry during the summer months, be it at a hotel or at a restaurant.

You can propbably sublet an apartment for an affordable price during that time. Check out Craigslist, the classified section of the Savannah Morning News, and Connect Savannah, our weekly paper.

Good luck!

I would think a waitress job or retail would be easier to get for a short term than hotel work, unless you already have experience in hotels.

I agree that you should not have trouble finding a job if you are over 18 and have a couple letters of reference.

Thanks so much for your help.
