Hi I just read somewhere that Midtown in right in the heart of the gay district. I%26#39;m not a homophobe or anythign but can anyone tell me what its like and as a heterosexual should i stay in another area for night life and bars etc ??
Midtown - Gay District ?Midtown%26#39;s been the center of the gay community in Atlanta for decades, but it%26#39;s never been exclusively gay or hetero-hostile in any way. There are gay bars/clubs and a lot of gay residents, but most places aren%26#39;t expressly gay-oriented. If you%26#39;re looking for lots of nightlife, restaurants, etc., Midtown%26#39;s the best place to be, gay or straight -- you won%26#39;t feel out of place as a straight person.
Midtown - Gay District ?I%26#39;m not exactly sure what you%26#39;re expecting it to be like or what offends you. If you%26#39;re gay or straight, you%26#39;ll be comfortable.
no its cool, sounds like it will be ok.
I just didnt want to find myself in the gay district with no women to admire lol x
Midtown has a couple different concentrations of nightlife. I%26#39;d recommend checking out the Crescent Ave. area between 11th and 14th streets. There are various clubs, bars, and restaurants along Crescent, 13th and 12th streets. Also, on 14th is the W Hotel, Trois, Tap, and Shout.
thanks for your message and recommendations!
While the intersection of Piedmont and 10th is the heart of Atlanta%26#39;s gay culture, the rest of midtown is very mixed. 10-15 years ago one could say that midtown was predominantly gay, but now, to over-generalize, many of the gay residents have moved on to hipper areas, and more businesses and yuppies have moved into midtown. You definitely won%26#39;t have a problem with finding good nightlife for a straight guy. Do focus on the Crescent Avenue bar area, TAP, Shout, the W, and you%26#39;ll find plenty of ladies to chat up.
hahah great, thanks for your help...must brush up on my skills lol
