Visiting Atlanta

Hi, will be travelling to the States from Australia from end March to end April. Will be in Atlanta on 4, 5 and leave on the 6th. If anyone has any use tips they would be appreciated. I have read suggestions about catching MARTA. What is the weather like in April.as luggage space will be at a premium I will not be bringing a jumper but can I assume that I could buy one even though summer gear would be on sale.

Visiting Atlanta

Weather in early April is usually warm -- a cold snap is not impossible, but would be unusual. Warm weather clothing should be fine, though you%26#39;d do well to have a light jacket of some kind, particularly a weatherproof one as there%26#39;s a better than average chance of rain or thunderstorms. Average high is around 21 C, average low is 8 C, but record highs are 10 degrees C higher and lower.

Visiting Atlanta

Depending on where in the city you are going it can be convienent to use MARTA. Check to see if your hotel has a free shuttle from the airport or if they are within walking distance of a MARTA station. You will also be able to hail a taxi at the MARTA stations if you need to.

Our weather in April is usually warm and sunny with a few days of rain but even that can be unpredictable. Last Sunday we were under 3 - 4 inches of snow and the temp was in the upper 20s (Farenheit) the last few days the temps have been in the 70s during the day and in the 50s at night. You should be ok without a jumper, as the temps in April will start to push well into the 80s. It should be easy to find a jumper if it tunrs out that you really need one. I would certainly recommend bringing a light rain jacket or a small umbrella just in case. Check www.weather.com a few days before your departure to get an idea of the weather situation.
