I know i%26#39;m going to these both places i have 3 1/2 days but what I need to know is from College Park should we head to Helen Sun. morning and spend the day and night there leaving Mon morning then going to Stone Mt then Athens until Tues morning then leaving for the airport around 12 or the other way around Do Stone Mt then off to Athens until Mon morning then to Helen and back to the airport on Tues at 12. Oh one more question is the laser show worth going to see we did see a laser show in Sea World already. Thanks Dallas1
Helen or Athens??
Do you mean the laser show at Stone Mountain? If so, I think it%26#39;s hokey with outdated technology.
Helen or Athens??
Depends on when you are coming, because the laser show is spring-fall event, not offered year round. And during some early and late weeks of the season it is only offered on weekends, I think the laser show is worth seeing if you have not seen it. But I like it because we usually do the picnic thing and get the whole family together, the show and fireworks are just the entertainment in the background.
I am not sure if you have business in all three destinations, and have to go there, or if you have chosen to go there. Of the three, Helen is probably the best stop, as there isnt much in Athens.
Helen it is i do have a hotel on hold for now i think its right in townBest Western Riverpark but i%26#39;m looking into cabins.
most cabins would have a three night minimum, but if you can find one, that is the way to go. Try www.flipkey.com to assist you.

Depends on when your coming to town. The natural flow travel wise is to go to Stone Mountain Park first. Then I would go to Athens next about an hours drive away from SMP. The downtown Athens area is a jumping place any time UGA has classes going. The Athens welcome center has a tour of the city you can take thats about 1.5 hours. Helen is North of Athens about 2 hours. The Best Western is probably one of the better hotels in town, but please remember that most of these hotels do their business on weekends and jack up the price greatly on Friday and Saturday nights. With Helen%26#39;s economy the way it is now there are plenty of cabins that will rent for one night. A lot of nice hiking and waterfalls in the area, but the town itself is a bit lacking.
Thanks again we decided just what you suggested we like to explore the surrounding area on our vacation and we will be doing just that
