Stay in Savannah or Tybee Island for a week, April 11th

We%26#39;re thinking about vacationing in GA for spring break in April. We have 2 daughters, 16 and 10 and were wondering if we should stay in Hisotic Savannah or Tybee Island? We like to rent through VRBO where we have a little more room. Any advise would be greatly appreciated?

At that age, I think your daughters would probably prefer to stay at tybee and drive to savannah. The ocean may be too cold at that time of year, but the beach will still be nice. But it isnt that far to tybee from savannah, so either can work for you.

Kids need a chance to run off some steam and Tybee will work alot better for them than the downtown area will. They can build a few sandcastles, visit the little marine aquarium, ride bikes on the beach, then you can take them into the wonderful downtown historic area and enjoy that while they yawn and wish they were back on the beach running on the Pavilion. The downtown area is truly great but kids like open spaces so balance it out and give kids and your adult selves a little of both. We%26#39;ve been there with our young adult kids and could still appreciate the difference between the beach and the downtown area where you feel you must behave a little more like a proper person. Balance is everything!

I would stay at Tybee. The kids will enjoy it more than Savannah. It is a short drive to Savannah when you decide to go.

Seeing that you are from Detroit the kids may not mind the 60 degree water temperature in early April. You will find some peple in the water then.
