Lunch- Savannah?

My friend and I will be visiting Savannah in a couple of weeks taking a one day trip from Hilton Head.

Which is the best place for lunch?

We have heard about Uncle Bubba%26#39;s. Do they take reservations? Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Lunch- Savannah?

Don%26#39;t waste your short time in Savannah on a tourist trap a la Uncle Bubba%26#39;s (no reservations anyway). Try a true Savannah style place for lunch: The famous Wilkes%26#39; House, 207 W. Jones in the historic district. REAL Southern cooking, served family style, M-F, 11a.m. -2p.m.

If you want to eat BBQ the way we locals do, try Angel%26#39;s BBQ on West Oglethorpe Lane, next to the Independent Presbyterian Church. Spanky%26#39;s on River St. is a fun, casual place known for its chicken fingers since the mid-1970%26#39;s.

SoHo South Cafe on West Liberty St. near Bull is excellent as is the Gryphon Tea Room on Madison Square across from St. John%26#39;s Episcopal Church.

what type of lunch were you interested in? Hamburger, bar-b-que, full meal or quick snack? Pizza or something fancy? Southern Home Cooking? Italian? Chinese? Seafood?

Savannnah has a multitude of places to eat. I am sure that someone will know exactly the right place for you. But you have to give them a clue as to what you like.

Thanks,

Southern Home cooking or Bar-b-que.

Foggy Bottom had some great suggestions.

Looks like we may be there for dinner as well. One of these mentioned might work out great for that too.

Good! I think that foggy had a good suggestion with Mrs. Wilkes for lunch. It%26#39;s probably the best for the ';Southern'; food experience.

I think you will enjoy the section of town that it%26#39;s in too.

Ms Wilkes is open for lunch only. Angel%26#39;s BBQ closes at 6. Grab some bbq and go sit in a square, a great way to enjoy dinner.

while angels bbq is quite delicious, i prefer the sides at wall%26#39;s bbq.

Thanks So Much!

Unless you%26#39;re dead set on BBQ, I might suggest Zunzi%26#39;s.

Although you%26#39;re not going to go wrong with Angels BBQ or Wall%26#39;s BBQ, either. Both are great.
