I am hoping to take my husband on his 40th to Atlanta for the weekend. I%26#39;d like to stay in the nicest hotel...right now I am thinking the St. Regis and I have no idea where to take him to dinner on Friday and Saturday night? I would so appreciate suggestions.
Thanks!

I am planning the same type of weekend for this weekend as well! Have you made reservations for the St. Regis? I didn%26#39;t know they had opened yet.
We are going for one night for our anniversary and I%26#39;m making reservations at Chops Lobster Bar. I%26#39;ve never been there before, but been to many of the restaurants in this group and they are all great. My husband has always wanted to go there, but I usually get my way and we go somewhere else...he%26#39;s been wanting a good steak :)
Not sure if Chops is considered a must if you are in ATL for just a weekend, we live right outside the city so we frequent the restaurants often, but I%26#39;ve heard good things. Have fun! And I%26#39;m interested in what others may say, we might have to change our plans!

The St. Regis sounds awesome. I didn%26#39;t know it had opened. The W downtown is very nice as well if something more trendy interests you.
For dinner, my top picks would be Rathbun%26#39;s, Bones, BLT Steak, Craft, Home, Antica Posta, Nava. Bacchanalia and Restaurant Eugene also get rave reviews but I haven%26#39;t managed to go to either yet.
I don%26#39;t know if the St. Regis is open yet either. Last I saw, the building was still under construction last week.
If you%26#39;re looking for a really nice and new hotel, the InterContinental is maybe 2 years old? Also, the W Hotels in Buckhead and Downtown are brand new. I haven%26#39;t heard the best reviews about the one in Midtown, as it was a converted hotel. Another one to check into is the Mansion on Peachtree.
Some great celebratory restaurants around town in addition to the ones mentioned above are: Bacchanalia (prix-fixe), Quinones (prix-fixe), and Floataway Cafe.
I just had brunch at Craft a week ago, and it was so-so, nothing to rave about despite it%26#39;s celebrity status.
Oh, another restaurant I%26#39;d like to add is Aria on Pharr Road.
Also have a look at Two Urban Licks for dinner. Certainly not a quiet place, but it%26#39;s become one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta, and we%26#39;ve been there a couple of times for our anniversary.
Thank you all for the great recommendations. The St. Regis is set to open on April 14th!!
If you are going to stay at the st. regis, definatly try lobster bar. However, chops is not one of my favorites. I would suggest Capital Grille or Bones for steak in Buckhead, both are manly places w/ wonderful service.
