Gull Reef

We are thinking about a vacation to Tybee Island in May with 2 other couples and potentially two older kids.

The Gull Reef condos on the beach - from the pics - seem like a good value for everything I%26#39;m looking for:

pool, 3 bedrooms, wifi, close to beach, nice and well cared for.

Has anyone else had any experience with these condos(all the reviews look good so far) or any advice?

Also saw Brass Rail but so far can%26#39;t seem to find any with internet access.

We have been undecided on a vacation spot - I know the gulf beaches are nicer but Tybee seems to have it all since it%26#39;s so close to Savannah and we could do a day trip to Cumberland Island.

Gull Reef

Hello

We are booked at the Gull Reef this summer for our first trip to Tybee. We rented through a group of owners and hope it will go well. I liked to locations and the fact that there was a pool along with the beach.

What does Cumberland Island have to offer? We have two teenagers and two younger kids (8%26amp;10) traveling with our group. If there is something there that might interest them I%26#39;d like to hear about it.

Hope you find the details you are looking for.

Gull Reef

Cumberland Island is one of my favorite places on earth. It%26#39;s a beautiful nature preserve and state park that used to be the home of the Rockefeller%26#39;s and Carnegie%26#39;s. There%26#39;s so much history that I feel overwhelmed trying to explain the signifigance of it.

It has a beautiful beach and lots of opportunity for hiking, bike riding, camping and bird watching. There are no restraunts or food vendors on the island. You take a ferry over and stay the day or camp and take a picnic. There is one luxury resort that goes for over $300 a night. If you have teens looking for typical beach type attractions it may be boring to them and perhaps a bit hard with small children - but if you want to walk around and experience a beautiful nature preserve with a ton of history and see wild horses and turkeys roaming free - it%26#39;s quite an experience.

I haven%26#39;t checked but I%26#39;m sure there%26#39;s more on the trip advisor boards. It is about 2.5 hours from Tybee so perhaps a bit of a haul for a day trip but to me worth it. I%26#39;ve been there twice.
