early arrival....any suggestions?

I will be traveling to Atlanta in the next few weeks.

My flight will be arriving at 0745 in the morning. I am picking up a rental car in the airport.

I have noticed that most museums don%26#39;t open til 1000. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do until that time?

Is it too early to go through Oakland cemetary? Or are there any other landmarks/stops I could see at this time of day?

Open for any and all suggestions.

I suggest a nice breakfast. These places are all fantastic:

Also, the Flying Biscuit is a perennial favorite, and very popular with visitors. Frankly, I think the food there pales in comparison to the other three I mentioned, but lots of people who visit Atlanta come to this board and rave about it. It does have a fun eclectic vibe (but then again so do the others.)

I%26#39;m not sure what time Oakland %26#39;opens%26#39; but most City of Atlanta parks open sunrise early. Another great breakfast option is the bluebird, and it is across the street from Oakland so you would have a place to wait if it wasn%26#39;t open yet. Oakland cemetery is a great place to visit, if you have time for a tour they are fabulous.

From the website of Oakland Cemetery:

The Visitors Center and Museum Shop are open M-F from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. March 15-Oct. 26 and M-F 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Nov. 1 – mid-March.

I would assume the cemetery has the same hours but why not just call: (404) 688-2107.

If you%26#39;re flight gets in at 7:45am, it%26#39;ll be about 30-45 minutes til you get to the rental car place, and then driving into Atlanta will take about 15-20 minutes. So grab some breakfast at any of those places mentioned above, and most of the museums will be open by then.

You might want to try Bobby and June%26#39;s on 14th street.

Thanks to all of you for your time and suggestions.

Breakfast sounds like a great idea......and oh what a decision to be made!
