My family is arriving at the Atlanta airport for a wedding up in the mountains. We need to rent two cars and the prices are very high. I notice if we rent off of the airport it is much more economical. Are any of these locations close enough that it is worth the hassle.?
thanks so much any help is appreciated

Close to what? Where are you staying?
I have rented from Enterprise several times, using the howell Mill Rd location. They will pick you up and bring you back to their office. you could take MARTA from the airport to the Arts Center station and have them pick you up from there.

It looks like Avis has an office a little over a mile from the airport with an excellent rate. It shouldn%26#39;t cost much to taxi there should it?
thanks
A taxi for the first mile would cost $4.25, and each additional mile is $2.00. There is a flat rate to go into the different zones of the city - downtown ($30), midtown ($32), Buckhead ($40).
The Avis you see is probably the airport location. All rental car companies have offices and car lots away from the airport proper, and you take a shuttle from the airport to the rental car office.
If you want to use Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, Enterprise, you can take MARTA to Peachtree Center and walk their downtown locations.
This avic has prices that don%26#39;t have the airport fee so I don%26#39;t think it is the airport. I will check further thanks.
what%26#39;s the address?
The cheapest car rental in Atlanta is by far Enterprise. However, I don%26#39;t know who close/far you are frm them! You can try Yahoo%26#39;s Yellow Pages to find the nearest one to you.
Thanks-we have had alot of trouble with them in the past but if we can save alot I might give them a try again.
I think my trick would be to find an off airport rental place that was economical to taxi to. I don%26#39;t know if such a place exists.
Thanks for your help,
Peg
I would not say that Enterprise is always cheaper than any other company. You%26#39;ll just need to use a search engine like Expedia to see what company is currently offering the best price.
Be careful.. some off site locations are only open certain hours. Check the hours and make sure you can pick up and return when you need to.
I am arriving in Atlanta during Easter weekend and I am shocked at the prices of the rental cars. Alamo had the cheapest rates.
I found a good rate for ans SUV from Thrifty and a compact, using and entertainment coupon from Alamo. Atlanta must have some of the most expensive car rentals in the US
