I will be travrlingto Atlanta fo rthe first time. The purpose of my trip is to attend a wedding shower on Saturday. I will be traveling with two other girl friends.
I wanted to know of ny intereasting things that we can do. Non- turisty stuff pleae. Good places to eat.Visit, book stores, lounges, Malls, museums, street fares and things of the like.
Has anyone stayed at the La Quinta Inn? Is it decent. Thanks for your suggestions
Friday June 9th to Monday June 12If you%26#39;re referring to the Dunwoody La Quinta, it is popular on Trip Advisor for some reason but fairly removed from the city. I work almost across the street and it looks no different from any other La Quinta to me. If I were going to stay in Dunwoody, I would stay at the W. Really, though, I think you would prefer midtown, which has more restaurants, bars, shops, and is more walkable. It is in the city, whereas Dunwoody is very suburban.
Your questions are very broad but I would suggest that you would like the following neighborhoods: Virginia-Highlands, Little Five Points, downtown Decatur, East Atlanta. They all are fairly funky and unique with boutiques, bars, restaurants, coffe houses, etc.
For malls, I would suggest the biggest, Lenox Square, which has everything you could imagine, and Phipps Plaza, a smaller more upscale mall across the street from Lenox. If you do stay at La Quinta, you will be very close to Perimeter Mall, which is a nice, big mall with Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Macy%26#39;s, etc.
