Hi everyone, this is our first family vacation to jekyll island. we have 3 kids,9,6%26amp;4. I would love some feedback about the weather in april and how the beaches are. We%26#39;ll be their for Easter and wanted a nice restaurant to have brunch or dinner at that won%26#39;t break the bank! Any other suggestions would be greatly appreacted. Thanks, mar

you should enjoy warm days and cool comfortable evenings in april. swimming might be iffy but you can surely enjoy the beaches. i%26#39;m not too familair with restaurants on jekyl, as the choice is limited. you may be better off in st simons or brunswick to soothe your budget. fast food is available on the mainland. willies weenie wagon in brunswick or the georgia pig are both tasty. st simons has a great cafe in the 4th of may or beachcomber bbq and others that are excellent menus which won%26#39;t break the bank. enjoy your vacation!

Just south of Buffalo, NY and we will be there at that time to with our three young kids. We go every year. My suggestions: Dinner waits can be long on or off the island at this time of year. Go early or make reservations. For Easter brunch - make reservations today. The Jekyll Island Club%26#39;s is a wonderful one, but very expensive. Call ahead to your hotel and ask them for other recommendations. Okay, dinners: Blackbeard%26#39;s on the island is okay, and good for kids. Latitude 31 is very good, and okay for kids - but on the more expensive side. The Crane Cottage is the best restaurant on the island (located next to and operated by the Jekyll Island Club), but is is more difficult with kids (pricey and upscale). You could try a lunch there sometime; we%26#39;ve got extended family that go as well, so we use that as our one, grandma babysitting/ just-the-two of us night. But we have brought the kids there for dinner, too. The Jekyll Island Club dining room is very upscale, but they have a cafe on the front porch of the hotel, Cafe Solterra, which does breakfast, lunch and dinner, sandwiches, pizza, soups, etc. And you can eat on the porch of the Jekyll Island Club. Sea Jay%26#39;s down at the marina on the island is just so-so for food. It is very casual - so it is fine with kids, but not very big. But there is the marina right there so you could walk the kids down to look at the boats. Morgan%26#39;s Grill at the golf course is great for an inexpensive breakfast or lunch.

On St. Simons: We heard Boda Bing%26#39;s for pizza (in Redfern Village) is good. We are going to try it this year. Mullet Bay is great for kids, but feels like a Fridays/Bennigans to us. Blackwater Grill (also Redfern Village) is good for kids and has great food (mid-range price). Barbara Jean%26#39;s is a very popular place, the inside looks like a diner and it is always packed but they are supposed to have the best crab cakes.

Mar, I have 3 kids and we camp at Jekyll Campground often. They have wonderful bike paths on the island, so be sure to bring your bikes. You can rent them on the island also. We usually eat at our camp, but have eaten at the restaurants on the island. I don%26#39;t have a favorite, but they are about average for restaurants in the area. Hope this helps.
