Lady and Sons

Does anyone know the best time to catch Paula at her restaurant(Lady and Sons) my sister had rough year husband had major stroke etc and want to take her for her bd she loves Paula

Lady and Sons

I%26#39;m sorry, but don%26#39;t waste your time.

Paula Dean dosn%26#39;t have much to do with Lady %26amp; Sons anymore. She has a tour, but it%26#39;s hundreds of dollars. It%26#39;s all really not worth it.

Lady and Sons

I agree- Since Paula%26#39;s sudden stardom I don%26#39;t think she comes around Lady %26amp; Son%26#39;s much anymore. Also, if you read the recent reviews of the restaurant it seems to be suffering from someones absence. Yikes!

She was there at the Restaurant on January 19. It was her birthday. But I think it is hard to catch her there, with all her TV shows and all.

Paula Deen is hardly ever at Lady and Sons. Too many fans want to mob her. Her sons are there and will cut up for the tourists. You can pay $250 a pop to take Paula%26#39;s cooking class --a talk show format with food demos -- which is usually held at her other restaurant called Uncle Bubba%26#39;s...and then you%26#39;ll see her for a while, but from a distance. There is also an official Paula Deen tour for $51 a person but there is no guarantee that Paula will make an appearance during it. She%26#39;s a very busy person.

Do not waste your time at this restaurant!!! Just a big tourist trap!!

Well I had never heard of paula Deen but i heard so much about the restaurant Lady and sons . Sorry to say yep its a tourist trap and no way worth waiting for up to 2 1/2 hours for, and in all that heat ! You realy have to be crazy . The food is no more special than I could get at my local cafe here in london .

OVER RATED FOR SURE

I really think you are being overly hard on Lady %26amp; Sons.

I don%26#39;t eat there unless someone comes to visit and wants to, but whenever we do they enjoy the experience. Ho cakes and greens and many of the other dishes are new to visitors and though Paula is busy now, it is her place, she does show up occasionally and that means something to people who think a lot of her.

I find the food salty and I don%26#39;t think it is in the top 10 restaurants downtown but I don%26#39;t think it is horrible, I don%26#39;t think it is a tourist trap and when I have been there we have put our name in, been given a time to return, shopped around for an hour or so and come back to walk right in.

I am afraid it has become chic to bash this place and I think it is unfair and a disservice to the people we are trying to help on this site. I mean the tourists, not Paula Deen.

BrianO, your comments about Lady and Sons were right on and EXACTLY mirrored my visit to the restaurant last November. You gave a fair and accurate accessment of the place without any theatrics.

It%26#39;s plain old Southern Home Cooking. As one of my son%26#39;s put it....';Mom, you cook better than that.'; To anyone that%26#39;s lived in the South for any length of time, that%26#39;s not what we want when we go out to eat. It is well cooked, and seasoned, but not what most locals would call exciting.

Paula is an exceptional person. She%26#39;s got scads of other things to do now besides watching over the kitchen. I hope your sister doesn%26#39;t have her heart set on meeting her.

Well I am not trying to bash any place , its only my view of the resturant , and I am a tourist when I arrive in your beautiful city .

As I say I found it no better food wise than eatting at my local cafe here in London .

Nothing special at all , Just giving my honest opinon
