Omni Hotel at CNN Center or Renaissance Councourse Hotel?

We are going to a Braves game in April (13-15). We have narrowed our hotel choices down to OMNI HOTEL @ CNN CENTER or the RENAISSANCE CONCOURSE at the airport. Any suggestions which would be better? We have an 11 year old son. Which is the safest? Which is the nicest? We were going in July, but because of our son%26#39;s baseball schedule, it is necessary to move the trip up to Easter. I don%26#39;t have a lot of time and I want to be at the best place for us. We%26#39;ve only stayed in Atlanta one other time. Thanks, in advance, for all your help!

I would choose the Omni because of its location. It is across from Centennial Park, adjacent to CNN Center, and very close to the Aquarium, Georgia Dome and World of Coke. That area is very lively and you%26#39;ll see lots of tourists and activities going on all around. There will probably be panhandlers, but I see families walking in that area all the time and it is covered with police and Atlanta Ambassadors (safety/courtesy officers). As with most airports, the Atlanta Airport is in the middle of nowhere, without a good selection of restaurants or entertainment. I would not expect the streets to be anywhere near as populated as downtown, but would think that the safety level would be about the same. I%26#39;ve never stayed at the airport, though, so perhaps others can offer more insight as to safety in that area.

I definitely agree with the Omni @ CNN. Great location.
