hyatt regency atlanta

I will be at the Hyatt this week for a meeting. What is near that I could do the afternoon I arrive or after meetings? What is the best restaurant near there? Ray%26#39;s looks good as does PattysPorch(sp?) but have never been so need your assistance.

Thanks!

Well, if you might consider heading over to the new Georgia Aquarium. It%26#39;s the hottest thing going right now. You can check out the Web site at www.Georgiaaquarium.org. Or you can ask the concierge to possibly arrange it for you, some hotels in the area do that.

Ray%26#39;s in the City is indeed a good restaurant, definitely one of the best in that area. But I would avoid Pittypat%26#39;s Porch. It has gone downhill in recent years and the folks I%26#39;ve talked to of late haven%26#39;t been happy with the food/service.

The dining room at the Ritz Carlton hotel is probably the best restaurant in the area. Other than that and Ray%26#39;s there aren%26#39;t really any great restaurants in that area. Mama Ninfa%26#39;s for Mexican is pretty good, as is Azio for American style Italian. I also like a small French cafe called Fleur de Lis. A little further north on Peachtree is a brewery (Max Lager%26#39;s) that is decent. I am not a fan of the Sundial restaurant. Your other options would be tourist traps like Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe, but if you will walk a few blocks there%26#39;s a Ted%26#39;s Montana Grill, which is owned by Ted Turner and specializes in buffalo burgers. Also, there is a new very trendy restaurant in Glenn hotel called B.E.D., same chain as in New York and Miami, that seems to be good for drinks and people watching, but don%26#39;t know about the food.

Thanks to both of you for the great info.

You have given me some suggestions for the area near the hotel that are very helpful. I don%26#39;t think we will have time to get out of the neighborhood so I appreciate the responses.
