Bargain shopping!

Where in the Atlanta area should I look for great deals on clothes, including secondhand stores? As in under $30 for pieces? I%26#39;m not necessarily a Prada and Gucci person (more of a Banana Republic and Belk kind of shopper), but if those deals are out there that would be great, too!

No holds barred here... last weekend while visiting my parents (they just moved there), I found a beautiful Ann Taylor blouse at the Sandy Springs Goodwill for $4! Mom and I enjoy the thrill of the hunt -- on a budget, of course -- and would love any tips. Thanks!

Bargain shopping!

Hey, dplady!

First thing off the top of my head is the Junior League%26#39;s Nearly New Shop. They moved from Lindbergh shopping center to 1715 Howell Mill Road. It%26#39;s in the Kroger shopping center. I%26#39;ve not been there since they moved, but they have some pretty nice higher end clothes.

Talbot%26#39;s has an outlet next to Gwinnett Place mall and I sometimes find some really nice shoes marked down drasticaly.

I%26#39;ll let you know what else I can dig up.

Bargain shopping!

Plato%26#39;s Closet is a consignment shop that usually has designer pieces. Also, Psycho Sisters might have some good finds.

For real bargains on designee clothing I would recommend that you go to Loehmann%26#39;s (there is one at the Perimeter and one on North Druid Hills) or Filene%26#39;s Basement. This is the same Filene%26#39;s that has the Running of the Brides that is so widely publicized every year. TJ Maxx has good deals, but to me it%26#39;s very hit or miss and you cannot go with any particilar item in mind. There are outlet stores up Georgia 400, about 45 minutes north of Atlanta, that also have some good deals on mid-range stores like the Gap, Anne Klein, Casual Corner, J Crew, Jones New York, Saks Off Fifth. Here%26#39;s the link: premiumoutlets.com/outlets/store_listing.asp鈥?/a>

The only thing about Plato%26#39;s Closet is that it is very much geared toward the teen/early 20s crowd. A lot of the clothes tend to be very trend oriented. There%26#39;s actually one next to Loehman%26#39;s.

I went to Filene%26#39;s for the first time last week. I was hunting for shorts and they didn%26#39;t have much. But they had some pretty good deals going on other things. Some of the dresses were very nice. Didn%26#39;t see much of a markdown on shoes.

Loehman%26#39;s is great. If you hit it right, you can find some nice things.

Thank you SO much! I really appreciate your input...this was exactly the kind of advice I was hoping to get!

I look forward to checking these places out... should be fun! Even Plato%26#39;s Closet... I am 26 and can still do trendy when I%26#39;m not having to be a responsible adult. :)

North of Atlanta off of GA 400 are the Premium Outlets Malls near Dawsonville and north up I-85 in Commerce, Ga. are the Tanger Outlet Malls, both with loads of name brand couture outlets. Both outlet malls are about an hour north of Atlanta.
