Planning a trip May 30-June 2 with kids-Need assistance...

Hi, I am planning a trip to Atlanta right after Memorial Day with a 4 and 8 year old. I am planning on a night Braves game that week. The Braves are offering a 4 park pass that includes Stone Mountain and Six Flags, plus the Six Flags water park. I am not that familiar with Atlanta, but I think that I am expecting to travel completely around the city with these locations in mind. Any suggestions about lodging, especially with a breakfast included would be great. I also hope to get in a visit to the Aquarium, but the reviews here are mixed at best about that location. I will be driving in, and I am not that comfortable with mass transit so I will be paying the price for parking I guess. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey, Tnmedic. Hopefully, we can help you out. Sounds like an action-packed trip!

The four parks you mentioned are indeed spread out over Atlanta. But they are definitely doable since you have a car!

I suggest determining a central location as your home base. The hotel I often recommend to folks is the Hawthorn Suites Atlanta Northwest, located near the junction of 75 and 285. They offer a really good hot breakfast. And it is not too far from Six Flags White Water.

My in-laws (and my husband and I) have stayed at this hotel often. When my in-laws drive in from Knoxville, they stop at the Georgia Welcome Center on 75 (not far from state line) and they usually find a coupon for that hotel. You can read reviews on it here.

Another good area for consideration concerning hotels is the Perimeter Mall area as it is fairly equidistant to the four parks. There%26#39;s also a MARTA train station there, making it easy for you to go into the city to hit the Aquarium if you don%26#39;t want to drive. It%26#39;s very easy to use.

If possible, and if they are playing that day, try to see the Braves on a Friday night. This year, they%26#39;re having a fireworks show after every Friday home game. We were there this past Friday and it was amazing. We were really impressed. It also didn%26#39;t hurt that Francouer hit a home run!
