Walking tour guide in historic Savannah

Once you%26#39;ve established that the best way to enjoy historic old Savannah is by taking a foot tour, give serious consideration to engaging a personal guide early in your trip. For 4 hours of the first day of our 4 day visit Bobby Davis of Explore Savannah walked my wife, 77 year-old mother-in-law and myself among the squares sharing stories, history, architectural significance, gardens, things to do in Savannah, restaurant advice and more.

We engaged Bobby with a simple no-obligation verbal commitment about 2 weeks before the trip. Immediately he began providing value by checking out a hotel we were considering, offering some ';influence'; at another hotel and giving me navigational tips to Sea Cabins, my ultimate destination.

Even after we parted, Bobby was still available by phone for some occasional consulting during the last days of our trip. Even though I had prepared for this trip with a fair amount of reading, Bobby%26#39;s advice saved us from any missteps and permitted us to get the most value, fun and best experience in the time we spent with him as well as the next three days after our guided tour.

There is no question in my mind that engaging a pesonal guide was no extravagance but rather an effective investment in getting the best value for our trip to Savannah. We had a great experience specifically with Bobby Davis and are happy to pass on his name and website (www.exploresavannah.com). I am not affiliated with him or his website in any way whatsoever.
