Savannah Hotel & Transportation

After considering a few places my Aunt and I have decided to take a 5 day vacation to Savannah. I will be arriving June 8th and staying throught the 12th. I am just looking for some suggestions on where to stay. I am not planning on renting a car so, I am hoping to stay in the center of town and at a hotel that has a shuttle service to points of interest. I am looking to spend less then

$200/night. Any other tips or must see places would be greatly appreciated.

Savannah Hotel %26amp; Transportation

Most places on Bay Street, The Hyatt, the Garden Hotel, the Doubletree, there are a few more are all pretty central as is the Desoto hilton. Don%26#39;t wait, that is a busy time of year.

Most sights are within a short walk of the hotels. The entire Historic District is only about a mile square.

Tour a house museum, Julliette Gordon Low Birthplace if you were a girl scout or go to the Telfair Museum and get a combo ticket to tour their Owens/Thomas House.

Mostly just walk around and sit in the squares and enjoy the warm beauty.

Savannah Hotel %26amp; Transportation

There are several riding tours. By trolley or horse carriage. Depending on where you stay, there may be a pick up spot right by your hotel front door!.

Ride around, see what you can, and then take a stroll through the squares at your own pace.

I booked my flight and accomadations. I will be arriving June 1st and staying through the 5th. We will be staying at the Dresser Palmer House.

I definately want to do a day tour and also a nighttime ghost tour. Does anyone have any reccommendations?

Also I was thinking about renting a car and going to tybee island one day. What exactly is there to do there?

Some restaurants I want to check out-

*Mrs. Wilke%26#39;s

*The Crab Shack

*Lady and Son%26#39;s

*Firefly Cafe

*Angel%26#39;s BBQ

Any others you suggest that aren%26#39;t to expensive? I also want to do one really nice dinner.

The other thing I was considering since this a vacation was spending some time at a spa. Any reccomendations?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

The spa at the Westin on the river in Savannah is very nice. The Westin runs a water taxi to River Street so you can get there without having ot rent a car or take a taxi. The Crab Chack is on the way to Tybee so if you rent a car you could stop there on the way to/from Tybee.
